I got hail damage on my Mazda3. Bad! To the tune of a $6,000 claim. If it was $7k, it would have been considered totaled. This means that they will fix it and I will get $30/day toward a rental for the time it is in the shop-this will be a long time in the shop. We are talking about 40 hours of shop labor plus another 16-17 of paint labor.
So, oppoconsultancy, how can I get the best most awesome rental deal? who from? (who do you recommend?) And not pay more than $30/day to do it? for reference, this is the north Denver area.

Priceline? See if you can snag a full size for $25 a day!

They total things when they get to 70% of their value....that's how GEICO works. Mine's an '08 hatch worth 10k.

Oh. Guess we know where that '15% savings on car insurance' comes from, huh...

Honestly I'd rather get it totaled. I love the car but having a payment when it's really just used for airport commuting is sort of a waste, besides, the airport is where all the hail goes. You should see how many golf ball looking cars are in the employee lot.

I also have an '08 Mazda3 hatch. Good to know what my car will need in damage in order to get totaled. Haha. I hope that doesn't happen, though, because the damn thing is paid off.
Anyway, honestly, I've always had good luck with Enterprise. Although sometimes their employees are dumber than rocks.

Can you take the $6k and the car then sell the car? I'm sure you could get a couple grand for it if it is mechanically sound.

I dont know about the best but Enterprise has a rate of like $23 or $25/day for an insurance rental so if your getting 30 maybe see if then can upgrade you?

It comes from replacement parts too. $400 OEM fender or $125 repro? Guess which one the lizard goes with.

Thought about that. Issue here is the 6k pays off what i owe, and whatever i can sell a hail damaged car for is the "profit". fixing it and selling it for near 10 would guarantee 4k in the pocket....instead of something from whoever is interested in a dented up car. (not many or lowballer wholesaler/parters)
